As often as possible, a post will be left here sharing our experiences and adventures.

After leaving the Notre Dame High School group, we headed off to Lourdes by rental car. We arrived late Tuesday evening, and attended the procession of the ill, which occurs every night at 9. In the morning we returned to tour the church, which is the church of St. Pius X, our parish back home. Internet at this location was not reliable, so no updates were possible.

With a half day of touring Lourdes, we hit the road and drove for another three hours to reach Carcassonne, a place to break up the car ride to Nice. Here we arrived in the evening as well and walked to the walled-off city to look around and grab dinner. The next morning we wasted no time in continuing our journey to Nice. With such quick turn around days and poor internet connection (in the lobby only), it was still difficult to make any updates here as well.

Our final stretch of our road trip took about four hours to complete with a few stops for the bathroom and some snacks. We arrived at our hotel around 6:00 PM. The hotel is about a half mile from the beach with a pedestrian only walkway straight to the beaches. We were thrilled as we walked in we had internet and were able to do some browsing. But by the time we were beginning to plan our next four days in Nice, the WiFi quit on us. Just as soon as we thought we had reliable internet to make updates and stay in touch, we no longer had an internet connection.

Nice has the typical double decker city tour busses where the second level is open. We thought it would be a good idea to take this around town to get our orientation and get a good idea of what the city had to offer and what to visit in the days to come. There were four or so stops along the way where we could hop on and off. We decided to stay on and not spend too much time on the tour. When we finished this tour, we got our swim suit attire and headed for the beach. After lunch, the girls lounged while the boys went parisailing. Altogether, it was a relaxing afternoon at the beach.

Yesterday was a local city tour, but today was a more regional tour of the French Riviera. It was going to be a public tour starting at 9 am, however, a misunderstanding while making reservations left the tour to be a private tour starting closer to 10. The five of us and our tour guide headed off visiting the perfume capitol of France and had a tour of the perfume facility. Our next stop was a small walled off city called Aise. Following this, our tour visited some more major cities/countries such as Monaco, Monte Carlo, and Cannes. Two other walled off cities were short stops among the larger destinations.

Happy July! Taking the advice from our Saturday tour, we visited the castle on the hill in Nice. This involved taking a small little tour train around town where one of the stops was the castle on the hill. This is where Nice originated. The rest of the day everybody was toured out and ready to relax, so everybody went their separate ways to fill their afternoon.
